Moloch Gibbon Exhibit, Howletts, 14 March 09

Howletts are of course famous for their success breeding Moloch or Javan gibbons. This enclosure near the clouded leopards previously held siamangs, but Howletts no longer keeps this species.

Wow, looks fantastic and much bigger than most of the gibbon enclosures I have seen.

It's certainly a decent-sized exhibit, especially height-wise. In terms of area it's probably on a par with Cotswolds' siamang exhibit or Edinburgh's buff-cheeked gibbon exhibit. By the way, if you look closely you can just make out the male gibbon peeping through the glass viewing window. :D
