Moustached parakeet 11-4-15

Perched on my daughters arm inside the walk-in aviary.

Either a Moustached or Derbyan but I would say Moustached parakeet.

The basic rule is that parrots have short tails and parakeets have long ones, much the same is true of lories and lorikeets: but there are some intermediates and there are probably exceptions too.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Title now changed to moustached parakeet. There will be a couple more photos of the very very friendly inhabitants put on later,when I can figure out how to upload Iphone pics and enlarge and twist them.
