Museum Casa Panthera - Owl cage (April 19th, 2015)
The 'tower' room in the Casa Panthera Museum contains three cages holding small owls, all very similar to this one for northern white-faced owls (Ptilopsis leucotis). These cages are small, filthy and only sparsely furnished with one or two crates or hollow logs and a few branches. These owl cages are some of the worst and saddest exhibits in the Olmense Zoo. These owls are in pretty urgent need of new aviaries, whether indoors or partially outdoors.
