Wow! and I thought Cleveland had an outdated hippo exhibit
    • snowleopard
I can't wait for the Elephant Trails habitat to open in 2011, as the hippos will be transferred to another zoo and the exhibit above will look much different then.
    • CMZman
Well, when did this exhibit open? Because Cleveland's opened in 1957
    • gerenuk
The elephant house opened in 1936, just a few years older than Cleveland's.

Has anybody seen this exhibit since the renovation was completed? Does this pool even exist anymore or was it wiped out in the remodel?
    • dcpandafan
      this exhibit no longer exist

Are the grey bars for people to escape in case they fell?
    • dcpandafan
u couldnt go up to the pool there was a rail i dont know what the bars were for
    • Gulo gulo
the bars were to keep the hippos at a safe distance, and from lunging. also keeper safety. animals can't grab a foothold with the bars.
