North Island Lichen Moth (Declana atronivea)
    • Chlidonias
A moth endemic to the North Island of New Zealand. According to Wikipedia it is the only species of lepidoptera, and one of only two insect species, to have asymmetrical wing markings (i.e. the markings on either wing are not identical to those on the other side).

The leaf it is on is a Kumara Ipomoea batatas (that's sweet potato to people outside New Zealand).
