    • gentle lemur
      Mirounga angustirostris. Big bull seals and some younger ones haul out to moult in August. The cows moult earlier and are feeding out in the Pacific at this time.
      I think that the seal at the back was the biggest bull on the beach, perhaps 5 m long. The one at the front was only a little smaller. The little one may be one of this year's pups.
