old kea aviary (now empty)
Frankton Zoological Gardens is a small collection, mostly of aviary birds, in the back garden of a house near the Queenstown airport. It has been in operation since 1965!! In its time the collection has housed many rehabilitated native birds, including kea, harriers and bitterns. Currently it has only common aviary and pet birds. 3 November 2012
