July 2008. Looking down onto the pygmy hippo pool, which can also be seen from the dirt track on the jungle trail.

I agree with the fact that pygmy hippos spend more time on land and I'd like to know what is Maggie from Alaska Zoo and what happened to her?

Maggie is an elephant who lives on her own at alaska zoo. As it gets so cold there, she is often confined to the inside and, despite being in her 20s, has collapsed on more than one occasion and shows signs of ill health. I think i heard somewhere that she is soon going to the PAWS sanctuary in california - can anyone confirm.

She HAS moved down there, thank God! Think it may have been a year ago, or so. :D :D :D

Yeah, I think she arrived at PAWS in November of 2007.

Cheers. Not sure where i heard that, it was ages ago though. Nice to know that she left alaska.
