Blackpool Zoo in the summer of 1976

I remember that penguin pool, and look how sparse the zoo was then.

Yes I was back there a few years ago after some years away and suddenly thought 'were did all these trees come from'

Is that a blurred chamois on the rock in the background? And another on the grass?

Yes. It was an island from what I recall.

Is there a photo of how this area looks now?

This is now the well vegetated island for Gorillas!

Blackpool Zoo was a very open site when it first opened but trees have grown up and matured since.
