Pacific Shores - Steller Cove
Steller Cove is an exhibit replicating the Oregon Coast and is home to Steller's Sea Lions, Southern Sea Otters, numerous Rockfish species, as well as many species of Anemone and Sea Star. This is my favorite predator/prey exhibit I've seen anywhere. The foreground hosts fish and invertebrates of the kelp forest such as rockfish, sea stars, and anemones. The background is a seamless view into the sea otter exhibit. The illusion is only slightly shattered in this view as one of the sea stars appears to float in the water as it clings to the rear glass. March 2013
