      When was the last time this had animals in it? I remember that the penguins were still in here when I visited London Zoo in 2001. Am I remembering correctly that it was a Komodo dragon exhibit too at some point after that?

      @DavidBrown It was an exhibit for Crested Porcupines before it became a fountain. I'd like to see this themed in one way that keeps its heritage: A splash park with pewter penguin statues, unless London already has a splash park.

      @Wyman Statues would be great. I think as a play area it would be a) too small and b) a health and safety nightmare, not to mention the damage that could entail to a listed structure.
      On a sunny day like this one I really can't think of a better use than as a fountain. Some have suggested it could be moved to a museum, or indeed anywhere off zoo grounds to make space for new exhibits. Personally I love it just the way it is now.
