      This enclosure is the smallest enclosure I have seen for this species a part from an enclosure at Mulhouse used for Housing surplus males!

      what's the purpose of the heaps of dead branches? I've seen them in a couple of the other Landau photos too.

      Its a place for native wild life to hide,it`s quite a common thing to see in a German Zoo!

      Not really. It's more, as far as I know, that the enclosure is more strukturated, so the animals can avoid each other and give them a feeling of a bushy area.

      and many deer/antelope species like to eat the branches/bark
