      Are the plastypuses(?) active often during the day?

      While I was there one came out and swam around for about 3 minutes before disappearing into it's burrow again. Amazing the number of people that suddenly appeared when it did, and then vanished just as quickly!

      Any idea what they are fed in captivity?

      I asked a keeper and was told blood worms, yabbies (a little freshwater prawny-looking thing) and gold fish generally.

      The larger ones are a Rainbowfish, probably Lake Eacham.
