Wonderful photo, and just like my zoobeat name, Pottos are perhaps my favorite prosimians. I saw a male Potto at Cincinnati 2 years ago. When did you take this photo?

I took this shot monday last week. I like them ,too, but most I like tarsiers. Frankfurt has kept them until 1992. I think, London has bred pottos several times. And Frankfurt published two guidebooks with a potto on the cover !

Now that you've mentioned them I forgot all about Tarsiers.....

Too bad. Seems to be behind the scenes in some others zoos as well.
Got to seem them quite often in Amsterdam before the nocturnal house closed tho, but I still find them great animals.

We only have some single individuals of nominate race (mostly males) in european zoos. Unfortunately all Lorisidae never have managed to breed that good in captivity. P. p. potto occupies the most western range. Berlin's female had belonged to a wild caught pair, but the male died in 2010. She lives behind the scenes of the nocturnal house.

@Dasyurus Why do you think breeding has never been improved in captivity?
