Red Crowned Crane chick

Hattie and Chester's latest chick, hatched June 2011. It's fascinating watching their completely natural (apart from flying) behaviour in their free-range lake setting. The other day the chick was reluctant to eat a snail foraged by its mum until she'd cracked the shell open.
