I thought that the Andean giraffe was a myth, but you have photographic proof that it exists!

What did you think of the Santiago Zoo, Carlos? From your photos it looks like they have an interesting collection of Chilean native animals and standard zoo favorites like giraffes, chimps, elephants, and tigers. How was the exhibit quality?

Even though the elephant and the giraffe áreas are really too small , i liked Santiago zoo and went there a few times during a sabattical period in Chile. Tris zoo has an interesting collection of native animals from Chile and has done a great work in wild life rehabilitation. This is the national zoo and is being renovated with new exhibits. The view from Cerro San Cristobal on clear days is quite lovely.
