      What happend to all these Rhea? Several years ago there were many individuals but now there are only two throughout the whole of Australia.
    • Chlidonias
      They all died out. The Australian population was heavily inbred, and by the 2000s almost all birds remaining in the country were infertile. At the time this photo was taken there were only about five or six birds left (these ones at Gorge, and a few at Alma Park which had come from TWPZ). Since then they have been slowly dropping off from old age.
