Saiga antelope (Saiga tatarica)

Wow zoogiraffe, that must have been an aw-inspiering experiance, I would very much love to have seen them, having seen 2 of the species that you're desparate to see in your liftime, were even I'm very much hoping that this species will begin to creem back into european zoo's, tho that seems very unlikely, apart from tallin zoo. I'm sure if the late john aspinall was around he'd definatly have an intrest in aquiering some.

As zoogiraffe says, I did indeed make it to Cologne in time to see the last Saiga (though with not too many months to spare - my second cologne visit was about 15 months later and the Saiga was gone).
