Lots of movement in this shot & all in all a wonderful visual composition. Would look fantastic reproduced as a sculpture group in porcelain. I am always on the look-out for nice things in zoo shops , rather than the usual tat.Perhaps somebody on Zoochat may make use of this free business idea- I would be very happy to be their first customer!

Glad you like! I do like taking 'proper' zoo shots like this - that show animals, exhibit, keeper and visitors.

I totally agree with European Fauna , it's a really good pic.

that big bull looks really scary rearing up from the water in front of the girl!

I didn't know Patagonian Sea Lions were that big! Are they larger than Steller Sea Lions?
    • Maguari
I've only seen Stellers once, and a few years ago now (Harderwijk in 2004) but I'd say Stellers are a good deal bigger!

I never seen Stellers, but on TV documentaries I heard that this is the most biggest sealions species of the world.

According to "Seals of the World" by Judith E. King (1983), it's no contest ...

Patagonian: Adult male 2-3m (nose to tail), 300kg in peak condition. Adult female 1.8m, 144kg.

      Steller's: Adult male 3m, up to 1 tonne. Adult female 2.2m, 270kg.
