Silk Cotton Tree in bloom, Singapore Zoo

2 Silk Cotton or Kapok trees (Ceiba petandra) at the Zoo have been declared national Heritage Trees, which means they cannot be cut down. Both trees are roughly 35 years old and measure over 30 metres in height. Their girths are 5m and 6m respectively.
