This zoo looks like something you would see in a Third World country.
What makes you say that elefante? It looks to me like numerous other Komodo dragon exhibits out there. It does look a bit unkempt with the leaves everywhere and the pond drained.
It looks barren and outdated. For some reason it reminds me of pictures I've seen of zoos in places like Indonesia.
I tend to agree with David - if the pool was filled, the leaves swept and the trees in leaf this would look very different.
I highly doubt that any enclosure would look lush in Idaho during March.
Right. This is the outdoor exhibit area during the colder months when it is not in use. I'll try and upload a summer shot some time.
It's a shame: all those dead leaves caught on the roof mesh against the wall are a design flaw. That will always be a problem and difficult to keep clean.
The makeshift look of this whole thing suggests to me that it was merely "built," not "designed."
That may be somewhat true. This complex was built as Zoo Boise's first "real" zoo exhibit. Nothing on this scale had ever been attempted there before this.
