      Great photo of a pretty elusive animal.

      wow, it's so much darker than the one i saw in madrid.

      It's a shame they got rid of these...

      They were turning into a 'dead end' anyways ... almost all of the offspring produced were males. (They did have a rather impressive bachelor herd with animals in various stages of maturity in the back paddocks though)

      That's unfortunate. They are rather striking looking animals.

      were did ZSSD send there spanish ibex to ?, and when did they get rid of them ?, because it feels like yesterday that the spanish ibex were at the zoo

      They most have sent it to the Iberian Peninsula. They are still kept at Madrid and Barcelona, as well as some minor parks in Spain and Portugal.
