really? In which way is this a fair enclosure for spider monkeys? It looks extremely lacking in climbing opportunities for spider monkeys to me.
this is a rather large island, which had some climbing elements on one part. the spider monkeys have bred repeated times here. the moated chimpanzee island nearby was been renovated and the chimps were in cages on my visit. havana zoo is being renovated thanks to the tourist popularity that havana now has.
how far beyond the photo edges does the island extend? I think if they strung ropes between all the palms it would make the entire island much better for the monkeys.
this about a third of the large island. Yes ropes between the palm tree would certainly make it better for the spider monkeys.
