TARONGA-Langurs
one of my favourite zoo exhibits in the world. the exhibit is quite long and is viewed initially through glass from within an airlock building, which itself leads the visitor out of the lush 'palm aviary'. beyond the double doors, a boardwalk passes chital deer in a dappled forest clearing, fringed by giant figs. opposite the deer, the langur live in the vegetation-a natural partnership which the zoo interprets. this part of the exhibit is viewed through mesh. lastly, a viewing pavillion with lookous over the deer and tapir has a glass front into the langu exhibit.
