what a waste of valuable space
To the left in the back-ground is a children's 'Bouncy Castle' inflatable .
It's in the middle of a path, not exactly class enclosure space.
1. It is a six-month temporary exhibit from what I read
2. As a form, I like it enormously
3. It is apparently intended to help the public appreciate the marvels of termite architecture....and that's quite appropriate for a zoo.

I don't have a problem with this exhibit in particular, but it is not situated near any animal species linked to termites - indeed if I remember correctly it is in the middle of the strange animal-free zone in the middle of London Zoo, where there are scarcely any animals in sight!
Suddenly, it isn't that ugly anymore. It's even better than I first thought. Thanks Zooplantman for the complementary links.
