@ Geomorph - Thank you for posting such an extensive photo spread of Brookfield Zoo. This black-footed cat exhibit looks like reason enough to visit. But the whole zoo looks excellent, except for Tropic World.

I have wondered what this zoo is like and your photos give me the first really good idea. It is much nicer than I pictured it. Almost makes me wish I was going there for AZAD 2010. (Almost, but not really, since I will be in Europe at the time for a two week animal odyssey).

Definitely enjoy your European odyssey, but be sure to visit Chicago sometime! It is easy to recommend, with Brookfield, Lincoln Park, and Shedd within 10 miles of each other.
