tigers
photo taken November 1985. These are three hybrid-subspecies brothers born to a Siberian and Bengal tiger pair. These three animals were anaesthetised in April 1993 due to old age and related medical problems, along with the last elderly wolves at the Park. The move was criticised by animal-rights group SAFE who accused the Park of 'regularly shooting animals when they outlive their usefulness' The tigers at Orana today are pure-bred Sumatran tigers
