      @Maguari: how was your trip to Vietnam? Did you see any interesting wildlife or do any trekking in rain forests?

      Are all of the turtles in this zoo rescued from markets?

      Absolutely - there was some fantastic wildlife (Delacour's Langurs, various species of squirrel, kingfisher, heron and passerine, Dollarbirds and Coppersmith Barbets, and some really spectacular insects among others). I have some wildlife photos lined up for posting in due course!


      Yes, all the individuals are either rescues or confiscations, or else captive bred here or in other centres in the Asian Turtle Conservation Network. There is some more info here (but it's rather out-of-date): Cuc Phuong Turtle Conservation Center
