Vervet Monkey Enclosure June 2010

The keepers raised £5000 to build this new enclosure for their 4 Vervet Monkeys.

      I don't think just 4 little vervets(essentially a grassland species) will have much effect- Colobus or other Leafeating Monkeys would be more likely to damage them..

      I’m afraid I’m not so optimistic, vervets will eat leaves, shoots and buds (amongst other things) and this is often difficult for deciduous trees which are dormant during the winter period. Still, I hope your opinion is more informed than my own.

      Any updates on this enclosure?

      And to think Ben Mee in his book states that every one was against him keeping the whole group due to in fighting he decided to spit them up while others wanted to get rid.

      I wonder if they now have 2 separate enclosures as he planed or did they just reunite them all in a larger set up, any one know?
