Veszprem Zoo, Prairie Dog exhibit
This is a very nice and unusual exhibit. Prairie dogs are not separated into an enclosure. They have the choice to leave this area, but they don't take this, because they prefer theirs mini-habitat very much what you can see in the picture. Certainly it happens on occasion that a prairie dog appear suddenly some other part of the zoo, but they always go back to theirs enclosure. The zoo just take into account the size of the prairie dogs family: if the group size grow to big, the animals want to wander and found a new colony. It's so interesting to see that visitors wonder that these animals don't escape, but they can if want to that. I think this is an excellent example for visitors to learn that animals not feel to be prisoners in zoos if they have a species-appropriate enclosure ...
