Saw this little bird but am unsure what species it is. Thoughts?

      not a great photo there nanoboy! It looks like a female wren: if so it would be a superb (I think that's the only one there)

      Dammit. Female fairy wren sounds boring. Here I was hoping for... Dusky robin or something a bit more 'exotic'. :D

      tail's too long for a robin. But see if anyone else chimes in with any other suggestions.

      Certainly not a dusky robin, at least. I don't think it's wren either as they almost always have their tail upright. I thought may a fantail or flycatcher, from the shape of the body, head and beak, but it doesn't look like any of them.

      Essentially, I have no idea either.

      looking at the Eremaea list of birds found there, the only candidate is superb fairy wren.
