Western woylie or Western Brush-tailed bettong (Bettongia penicillata ogilbyi), 2021-09-02

I know the picture isn't great at all, but I only saw the animal quickly, was having some trouble with my eyes at the time and did not get enough time/was not quick and composed enough to do proper camera technique. But I decided to post anyway, as this is the best I've seen this species so far.

@PossumRoach I have seen them in daylight exhibits (although usually partially hidden and/or sleeping) before, but also never in an outdoor exhibit until recently. Also, the exhibit this one was in is much bigger than any exhibit I've seen a bettong in before.

@KevinB I hope that this enclosure is safe enough and the fur looking like that is only temporary.

@PossumRoach I also noticed the fur situation, I also hope they are at least on top it and treating it.

As far as I could see the bettongs couldn't get out of the exhibit anywhere, but I wouldn't call it totally safe for them with regards to predators. I don't think they could leave them outside at night in the exhibit, but during the day it is probably fairly safe.
