More about the WyLand Whaling Wall, taken directly from the Aquarium of Niagara website:

On September 29, 1998 the Aquarium of Niagara became home to Whaling Wall #81. This life-size mural was created by WyLand; the internationally acclaimed marinelife artist. WyLand's goal was to create 100 monumental marine life murals, known as "Whaling Walls," in more than 14 countries throughout the world. His goal was met in 2008, when he created "Hands Across the Ocean". This was a featured event of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Cultural Festival. In celebration of the Year of the Ocean, the challenge encouraged school children across the country to embrace a deeper understanding and appreciation of our oceans and the life they support.
