      White Duck

Big fat white domestic duck -- look at the mallard type tail feathers.

      Oh I see! Cheers!

A domestic duck amongst so many wild ducks? Domestic ducks aren't even in my field guide! :D

      White Duck

Basically, domestic ducks [particularly drakes] get dumped & can live a long time, especially in parks or where they get fed. Sooner or later something usually eats them as they are mostly too fat to fly. The curled tail feathers on the male are diagnostic, as only the Mallard & its domestic derivatives have them. The only exception is the Hawaiian Duck, which has a sort of suggestion of curled tail feathers without going all the way.

Thanks for that! So, would this be the kind of duck I eat at the Chinese restaurant when I order roast duck and rice?

      White duck

Most coomercial table ducks are big and white, so yes. Bon apetit.
