OK, I am swayed but still not sure of this bird. I have a photo of a definite (male) Taveta Weaver taken 36 seconds after my last photo of the...
I am now fairly convinced #2 is a juvenile Village Weaver, having found this reference. Juvenile African Village Weaver bird (Ploceus cucullatus)...
That just leaves the might-be-Taveta Weaver photo. I'm swayed away from it being a juvenile TW because of the quite strong colours on the wings...
Thanks, I looked that up and found the name refers to two species, of which the White-eared Bulbul (Pycnonotus leucotis) seems to be a good match.
It was certainly in amongst the Taveta Golden Weavers. I have photos of them from essentially the same spot.
I have one more. I thought this was a White-cheeked Bullfinch, but then realised that's not a finch beak — unless it's the angle? It was in Songs...
Thanks, that's two down. I agree the second one is thrush-like. Its colouring is reminiscent of the Hedge Sparrow (or Dunnock) we have in New...

Sigh, yes indeed. I don't know where I got the idea they were rainbow. I have corrected these. OK, I can at least claim I was fooled on that one,...
I've not been to many zoos. I went to Singapore Zoo and Night Safari last year and they were fine. Not amazing, but worth the admission. Jurong...
For those that may be interested, I have finally updated my Flickr album for Jurong. If anyone notices any misidentified birds, please let me know...
All the pictures I could find of the blue-crowned hanging parrot had dark bills, but I just found this reference where the juvenile does appear...
Hello, me again. I have been revisiting my Jurong photos trying to tag all of the species and I am stuck on two. This bird looks quite like the...
Thank you so much. I can see now I can search it by name how it matches the juvenile/female colouring. And how appropriate that it is an Alisterus!
Please can anyone here identify the bird shown in the two shots linked below? It was in Lory Loft on 20 April 2019. I can't tie it to any of the...
