I was wondering how many of you collect these souvenir notes and how commen it is to find these in zoos outside of Germany (I know of Wildlands Emmen). Some of the machines have the "classic" coins and the banknotes available. My clollection so far (still small): - Zoo Osnabrück (example) - Zoo Münster (example) - Zoo Köln - Wildpark Lüneburger Heide - Zoo Duisburg (- Heide-Park - non zoo)
I dont collect them. But I know these zoos have/had "fake" banknotes issued in last few years: Prague, Dvur Kralove, Opole, Liberec, Olomouc, Pilsen, Jihlava, Zlin, Usti, Bratislava, Bojnice, Kosice
Some are "fake" euro banknotes printed on original paper of euro banknotes. Example Example Some are imitations of CZK banknotes printed by official company issuing Czech currency. Example
I hadn't heard of these before, just the coins. Definitely something I might want to start adding to my collection
I believe that Pairi Daiza has them aswell. I got curious and started to look around for you online and came across this website that has an overview of some of them. You could also just search for the zoo you are interested in. I was able to find banknotes of Pairi Daiza on this website, but they did not appear in this overview. This website could also be interesting for you, since it also has an overview of zoo issued coins.
I had no idea these notes exhisted, and from all the zoo's I had visited so far never seen them (even Pairi Daiza, but when I went was 2018, maybe they didn't have them then?). We've been to 7 zoo's in the past 2 weeks, and I found the notes at 2 of them: - Parc des Félins (FR) - Krefeld zoo (D)
