Hello all! After a length hiatus from any major zoo trips (since August of 2014 I've only been to the Bahamas and a Dolphin place in the Florida Keys- both times looking for Atlantic spotted dolphins) I finally splurged and took an epic trip across 10 countries in 22 days. List below:

    1. Russia (Moscow & Novosibirsk Zoos)
    2. Thailand (Pattaya Dolphin World, Monster Aquarium, Khao Kheow, Dusit & Pata Zoos)
    3. Indonesia (Taman Safari Bogor, Ragunan & Batu Secret Zoos)
    4. Australia (for the 2nd time) (Territory and Caversham Wildlife Parks, Perth Zoo, & Kanyana WRC)
    5. Singapore (Singapore Zoo & Night Safari)
    6. Philippines (Avilon Zoo)
    7. Vietnam (Endangered Primate Research Center, Cuc Phuong NP, Saigon & Hanoi Zoos)
    8. Taiwan (Taipei Zoo)
    9. Japan (Toba Aquarium, Tama, Ueno & Inoakashira Park Zoos)
    10. China (Beijing Zoo)

I'm about midway through sorting the 12,000 photos I took, and was curious which locations Zoochaters would be most interested in seeing me post first?? So let me know here, and I'll try to have them up within the next couple days. Keep in mind I almost exclusively focus on photographing mammals.

Moscow and Beijing, especially if you got pictures of the rarities they each have.

I’m interested to hear about the Toba aquarium since I heard it houses west African manatees.

I'd be interested to see photos from Singapore. West African Manatees at the Toba Aquarium intrigue me as well.

You had me at Dugong :p. Due to this brilliant news I would now like to see the Toba aquarium pictures first. The more Dugong pictures the merrier.

Baikal seals don't sound half bad either.

Did you see the glowworm cave exhibit at the Tama Zoo insect house? That would be of much interest.

I'm embarrassed to say I didn't step foot inside the insect house. The day was shared with the Inokashira park zoo, and spent the majority of my Tama time in the Mole House.

Can we have your photo journey of the Mole House? That would also be of much interest.

Also any pangolin exhibits that you saw would be interesting. Did you see the ones at the Taipei Zoo and Night Safari in Singapore?

You went to all those places in 22 days? I'm curious about the itinerary (and how you decided on it) as much as anything. You must have been utterly exhausted!

That's not very wise,I would say. The insect house is very good and house some rare species.

Are we getting reviews too or just pics?

Unfortunately I've never really done or am interested in doing full reviews. I'm always up for answering specific questions though! Plus it wouldn't be fair to review many of these places with such a rushed itinerary where I'm focused on seeing new mammal species and possibly skipping or rushing through other areas of the zoo.
