Another survey thread, haha. :) Thought it would be interesting to see just how local ZooChatters are to their zoos.

To get to Marwell, it takes just over 20 minutes in the car for me meaning that if I want to go on a solo trip there, I can easily make it a last minute descision at lunch, as I will have plenty of time and I can be easily collected. But my nearest collection as such is the New Forest Otter and Owl Park at about 17 minutes.

My local zoo is Paignton, which is about an hour away (longer if my mum is driving as she always seems to get lost). This, unfortunately, means that I cannot visit as often as I would like because my parents can't just drop me off and go home again.

It takes me an hour and 15 minutes to get to Colchester (which is what I consider to be 'my' zoo), but Linton would be 30 minutes and Shepreth Wildlife Park 10 by car.

I did mine judge by car journey. Which is about 25 minutes away-ish to Marwell. However, when I go, I go by bus normally, and it will normally take over an hour and two buses.

Taxi to train station (lazy... but then I will be walking for hours at the zoo...) + train + bus takes me to my two home zoos, Copenhagen Zoo and Skånes Animal Park, in about an hour and 15 minutes.

It takes me about 30-35 minutes from my home to Bioparc Valencia, around 20-25 minutes in subway and then 10 minutes walking.

It takes me about 30 minutes by car from home to Marwell, thanks to easy motorway access.

It takes me 20 minutes by car via Lake Shore Drive. Public transportation takes 45 min to an hour because of a 20 minute walk to the zoo from the Fullerton el station.

It takes me on average, about 30 to 40 minutes by car to get to the Los Angeles Zoo from my home in Santa Clarita. Depending on how crowded the 5 Freeway is.

About 1 hour cycling (I clock up 150 miles some weeks; well, it looks after my health and there's a cyclepath most of the way).

It takes me about 50 minutes to get to London Zoo (underground followed by bus) even though I live less than three miles away in the centre of London.
