With the recent numbat, sumatran tiger, sun bear and short-beaked echidna breeding success stories, along with the elephant paddock expansion, this zoo has made a little bit of noise in the past couple of years. There are about 7 years worth of annual reports on the website, and the latest attendance figure was 620,000 for the year. A solid but not spectacular statistic considering that Perth's population is easily double that number.
