    I was under the impression there were more than 2 warthogs, weren't there 2 litters?

    Both Zooborn and Chester lists 2 warthog.

    5 warthogs were bred, 2 in the first litter and 3 in the second

    The warthog born last year aren't the first one born at Chester Zoo. It's the first birth since 30 years

    I don't recall Chester having Warthog back when you say they bred them!!!

    But their website said, maybe just network error.

    They did not keep warthog in 1984.

    But I recall reading that they bred warthogs in 1984 or it could be a network error.

    Well it could be a network error on you part,but I can say with 1000% certainty that if bongorob says it didn't happen at Chester then it didn't!!!

    Great thread of great breeding results of a great zoo ! Esp. the 30 Baer's pochards are an important result for this very rare duck ! The same is true for the Grey-breasted conure.
    Checked the International Zooyear Book 1984 breeding results for Wart-hog-breeding and only 6 collections bred it in that year: 2 German and 4 Russian zoos bred it and not a single UK collection !

    Yep, Chester says the Baer's pochard population is less than the current population at the zoo.
