    Also thanks to Chlidonias for bringing up rats in his travel thread, I have realised that a rat I saw in Thailand was not a Brown Rat as I thought and already saw in Poland, but instead was a Black Rat. The error comes from my mammal field guide calling it a House Rat and the fact that it was not black :p.

    There's probably a lesson in this that I should pay more attention to scientific names, particularly in groups where the common name is more variable like herps, rodents, inverts, etc.
