As stated yesterday, my friend and I revisited the coast again today to the same spot we visited yesterday in hopes of finding some new species. Most of the day was a bust, however, with us visiting three locations and only adding two new species at the first site and none at the second. The third site, however, was much more promising and thanks to the help of another birder and his spotting scope we were able to spot some of the species hiding further out to sea.

    Birds
    46) Redhead Aythya americana
    47) Song Sparrow Melospiza melodia
    48) Northern Harrier Circus cyaneus
    49) American Wigeon Mareca americana
    50) Eurasian Wigeon Mareca penelope
    51) Northern Shoveler Anas clypeata
    52) Red-Throated Loon Gavia stellata
    53) Long-Tailed Duck Clangula hyemalis
    54) Surf Scoter Melanitta perspicillata
    55) Dunlin Calidris alpina

    Mammals
    5) Red Fox Vulpes vulpes

Had the first chance to go on a walk locally for a couple of days because of a combination of snowfall and tidal surges. I did manage to find one new bird:

    83. Eurasian siskin Spinus spinus

Spoke too soon - just received corroboration of my identification of an individual I'd got noted but with the mythical '?' due to less-than-ideal angle of view.

    78. Peregrine Falcon - Falco peregrinus

    :)
