    Antwerp Zoo, 16/03/2018:
    11) Crested wood partridge, Rollulus rouloul

Edward's pheasant and yellow-necked spurfowl still not seen, and it would seem the king quails and yellow-knobbed curassows have disappeared/moved off-show since the (very minimal) construction/reorganisation of the bird house. Still a very slow year for me, but tomorrow should be better...

Walked through the zoo for about 10 minutes today as I was closeby, and decided to check for the spurfowl and pheasant again, of which I saw one:

After mine first sighting of a species for this Challenge which didn't count ( because it was domestic ( and dead )), see ( Almost ) my first for the European ZooChat Challenge ;) | ZooChat, I'm now really in :).
On saterday I visited Krefeld Zoo and can add my first species for the 2018-challenge :
    1 ) Cinnamon teal - Anas cyanoptera ( see Cinnamon teals | ZooChat )
    2 ) Ringed teal - Callonetta leucophrys ( see Ringed teal | ZooChat )
    3 ) Bar-headed goose - Anser indicus ( see Bar-headed geese | ZooChat )
    4 ) Ruddy shelduck - Tadorna ferruginea ( see Ruddy shelduck | ZooChat )
    5 ) Blue peacock - Pavo muticus ( see Blue peacock | ZooChat )

Krefeld surtainly is not well-known for its fowl and waterfowl-collection but evenso I missed quite a number, prop. because the Bird House was still not stocked with birds ( exept 1 weaver-species ) and in the out-side-eclosures many species were kept still behind-the scenes / inside ( birdflue ? ).
Species which should be kept at Krefeld and I didn't see are Painted quail, White-faced whistling duck, Crested wood-patridge, Magpy goose, Red-breasted goose, Imperor goose, Hawaii goose and African pygmy goose. Luckily all these species are quite commonly kept and I'm sure I will see most or all of them later-on in the year at other collections :).

Delightful news (at least for me :D ), New World quails being rarely kept and especially declining with zoos like Magdeburg not holding much anymore. Do you know when you visited so I can add to zootierliste?
