A new season, a new thread! Put your discussion, comments, predictions and anything else about the season here! This thread covers all leagues (Premier League, Serie A, LaLiga, Ligue 1, MLS, among others). Erling Haaland looks like an absolute monster in the attack, think he'll win the golden boot easily this season. Fulham look good, and I worry about Nottingham Forest's chemistry.
I agree that Haaland will probably win the golden boot. The teams I support are doing well. My favourite team is 3rd in the Premier League, my 2nd favourite team is top of Division 1 and my favourite Scottish team is 3rd in the Scottish Premier League. It's early days yet.
Looking forward to watching qatar get absolutely obliterated A real shame though that such an spectacular and wonderful event like the world cup,is arranged by such a corrupt and dirty organisation like FIFA.
I think that sometime in late 2022-early 2023, that the MLS will announce its 30th expansion team. I can see the league having 32 playing teams by the 2026 season. *The title of this thread should have the word "soccer" in the title, as most North Americans would expect this thread to be about the 2022 NFL Season.
Most Americans need to learn what Football really is across the World then! Your sport sharing the name is called American Football, although the ball and game in my opinion are closer to rugby than football.
This is a global forum, and in a global context, football is football, not soccer. Plus I don't think any European is physically capable of writing the word soccer without wincing, exemplified by my facial expressions writing this post...
I have to agree with comments regarding the football versus soccer debate; and will go as far to say, the first rule of football is don’t call it soccer. In New Zealand, boys call it soccer; men call it football and by that I mean, any man capable of holding a conversation about football is either English or a follower of one of the English teams and therefore refer to it as football.
Having grown up in the east side of the pond while having American influences (relatives and media) I am now torn because I am used to calling it "soccer" despite knowing the truth that it is footbal.
I don't watch American Football, so can you tell me why the final 20 seconds of the Giants win today took over five minutes to complete? Was it all tactical time outs or something? I didn't watch the game but just happened to turn the TV on while that was happening.
Nice to see England off to a good start with 6 - 2 against Iran. Watch out USA and Wales… #WorldCup2022 #GroupB
