    To be honest, I'm not at all surprised that a private individul was holding arabian wolves. In fact, I'm more surprised that an authority confiscated them :p. Living in Saudi Arabia, I knew people who had wolves as "pets" and there was a "pet shop" near me that had a near constant supply of wolves. Presumably all wild caught. Whilst wolves were far from common in the area, they were far from nonexistent and I did see a wild wolf at a fair distance in the desert.
