I remember watching this interesting documentary on how the Great British public's love of zoos first began and how zoos have developed since then a few years ago. Today it randomly appeared on YouTube, so I thought I'd post it here for those who want to watch it again or perhaps watch it for the first time.
Thanks for the link as I must have missed this programme when it was first screened. Considering that this homage to zoo visiting was made less than 10 years ago, it is interesting to speculate on how this programme might differ if made today. Who would have suspected then that Bristol Zoo will soon be closing on its present site?
Thanks for sharing this! It brought me back to the things I witnessed in zoos and aquariums even in the 90s and how much things have changed since then.
I actually recorded this on video and I still have it plus the video recorder, yeh!.Also got The Ark, 1993 London Zoo documentary ,Also on video, double yeh
