It certainly is an ambitious undertaking, a city with 6 million people needs a great aquarium, and the decision to build it at the base of the CN Tower is sheer brilliance!
I don't know how I'd missed this! I think it's quite a large undertaking, but if done properly it could be quite fantastic. I hope there are octopus. I miss the octopus at the zoo.
The Toronto Star reported that the aquarium is to open in 2013 (which is 2 years sooner than originally reported!). Very exciting!

How similar will this Ripley's Aquarium be to the ones in Myrtle Beach (South Carolina) and Gatlinburg (Tennessee)? I know someone who recently visited both and he thoroughly enjoyed his visits but stated that the two aquariums had approximately 85% of the exact same exhibits. Are Ripley's a larger version of Sea Life? Nevertheless I'm quite excited for the development as a city the size of Toronto really did need an aquarium.
