I would classify her as a character, not like a real world celebrity

To me this sounds as if we should focus on the scientific names of all these animals...

I concur with most of @Kakapo 's list, but 11 is clearly Hydropotes inermis though, which mainly leaves number 16 as a mystery.

Actually the OED does. 'A famous person, especially in entertainment or sport'. End of discussion!
Now list the scientific names and deduce the names of the two famous people. Here is one extra clue. They are both 8 letters long.

So is George IV, so what?*
Blind guesswork is almost as unlikely to solve this puzzle as the proverbial monkey with a typewriter is to write 'Hamlet'.

    * I am currently staying at a pub called 'The George' and his face is on the inn sign.

Have you even read my posts? I wouldn't say I'm doing "blind guesswork"

    I have.
I have made it very clear that you need to look at the scientific names of these animals. As far as I can tell, you have made no connection at all between these names and this actor. If there is one, please use the same method to find the second name and provide an answer to the final part of the puzzle.

I apologise for not getting back to this thread before. I was distracted by too many other things to do.
    Previously on this thread . . .
. . . . we had identified almost all the animals involved (apart from a disappointing performance on the discus - some of the most magnificent and interesting of fishes)
. . . . we had arrived at the need for the scientific names of these species
    Here they are:-
    (i) Chelonoidis carbonarius
    (ii) Trachycephalus resinifictrix
    (iii) Cercopithecus diana
    (iv) Macaca arctoides
    (v) Malayopython reticulatus
    (vi) Lygodactylus williamsi
    (vii) Saguinus imperator
    (viii) Polyplectron napoleonis

    (ix) Symphysodon ?
    (x) Canis lupus
    (xi) Hydropotes inermis
    (xii) Cyanoramphus novaezelandiae
    (xiii) Corythaeola cristata
    (xiv) Panthera onca
    (xv) Pteropus livingstonii
    (xvi) Pseudois nayaur

So the questions that remain are
Who are the two famous people?
What is the link between them?
