    .

This is such a cool thread!! Very well done and thought out!
Just one teensy edit though, my avatar is an endangered red wolf (Canis rufus), not a coyote. I’ve been involved with the Red Wolf recovery program so I understand how easy it is to get the two mixed up!! Thank you!

Zoochatters apparently need to spend more time looking at pinniped photos because I knew what they were right away, just not which of the two species ;)

So that's what it was. I could never tell (then again, I just realised the other day that @lintworm 's avatar was a Shoebill).

I knew they were Northern Elephant Seals right away, though.

I tought they were some kind of sea lions or fur seals (another of the various matters that ThylacineAlive accused me to have an opinion off when I never pronounced about this item). Really are you able to distinguish elephant seals from this photo???

I've split the taxonomic discussion off to the other thread (linked below) for now, in order to keep this thread on track.

    THANKS Chli :*

If for me, you can also delete the entire taxonomy thread split (there are also a former, in-use taxonomy thread, and no need of a duplicate :) )
