I heard that the 2 shoebill siblings born in 2008, returned to Pairi Daiza this year. Does anyone know details ? I've checked the websites of Zurich and Pairi Daiza but couldn't find any clue.....

The shoebills returned because Zurich will transform its "Afrikahaus" into an Australian exhibit.

Another reason why the shoebills are now in Pairi Daiza is to form new possible breeding pairs, the animals from Wuppertal have also been moved to Pairi Daiza.

Really!! Have both (M & F) in Wuppertal already been in Pairi Daiza? Or will they (Zurich & PD) form a pair each ? I've read an article in February that the male was waiting for a female to come, that means at least the female in Wuppertal came to Pairi Daiza ?

If the messages on Zoochat and Zootierliste are correct, all animals from Zurich, Wuppertal and PD are in PD atm to see if new breeding pairs can be formed. I don't think Zurich wants theirs back anytime soon as they have demolished their exhibit. It seems likely least one promising pair will return to Wuppertal.
